Madeline and Charlie, former PhD students from the University of Michigan, approached Hoyden Branding to help them commercialize their advanced intestinal organoids technology, GastroScreen. This groundbreaking innovation provides an accurate and ethical alternative to animal testing for drug discovery and toxicity testing. Their immediate goal was to raise awareness and establish credibility with potential investors and pharmaceutical partners, starting with the development of a professional, high-quality website.
Through an initial discovery call, we learned that the Intero Biosystems team wanted a simple but professional website to serve as a placeholder while they built out their brand presence. They emphasized the need for high-quality visuals of their technology and a clean, modern design that could attract potential investors and partners. The team shared competitor websites they admired, favoring a sleek, high-tech aesthetic with vibrant colors such as blues, purples, and greens, along with pseudo-colored microscopy images that reflected the science behind their work. Madeline and Charlie provided assets such as headshots and bios, and they shared internal design preferences that we would later shape into the final brand.
Strategy
With a tight turnaround time of two weeks to support an upcoming virtual pitch event, we aimed to launch a simple but impactful website. Our strategy focused on creating a clean, visually engaging site that positioned Intero Biosystems as an innovative leader in bioscience technology. We recommended the inclusion of interactive elements, like a rotating 3D organoid model, to highlight the cutting-edge nature of their technology and immerse potential partners in the brand experience. To ensure consistency across platforms, we also planned to develop additional branding collateral, including business cards, email signatures, and a LinkedIn presence.

Execution
Hoyden worked to deliver a staging site just days after the discovery call. We prioritized sleek, high-tech visuals with a strong focus on vibrant colors that aligned with their preferred aesthetic. Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with Intero’s CEO, Charlie Childs, PhD, and COO, Madeline Eiken, M.S., to integrate the content they provided. While completing the site, we also began laying the foundation for future brand development, including the creation of brand guidelines, business collateral, and ongoing digital presence improvements.

The website was successfully launched in time for the virtual pitch event, providing a professional, visually striking platform for Intero Biosystems to engage with potential investors and partners. The cohesive design, vibrant colors, and detailed visuals of the organoid technology helped establish credibility and excitement around the brand. Following the website launch, we continued to support the brand by expanding their digital assets, ensuring they had the tools they needed for long-term growth and investor engagement.
